After being exposed to lots of leatherwork content on social media, I thought I should give it a go myself. Off I went with a scrap piece of leather, needle, and thread and put together my first (dodgy) cover for my missal. Nonetheless it was a start!
My next discovery was realising most leather can be easily engraved. Using my laser engraver I got for my architecture studies, I ran the leather under the machine and discovered I had endless creative roads to go down.
I've since developed and refined making missal covers for our TLM Parish community, using my sisters and parents as test dummies. Learning techniques traditionally used in book binding and saddlery, my creative endevours continue to grow.
